Six Months in There.com — Reflections and Realities
๐ Tomorrow Marks 6 Months in There.com!
Published: October 6, 2025
On May 6th, 2025, I logged into There.com for the very first time. I had registered on April 27th, but didn’t have a PC powerful enough to explore the world until that day. What I found wasn’t just a game — it was a living, breathing community.
I discovered There.com through a YouTube video by Globert (aka Globatron), who was exploring supposedly abandoned virtual worlds. But There wasn’t abandoned at all. A small, tightly-knit group of passionate people were still standing strong, keeping the world alive. Despite the original shutdown in March 2010 and its relaunch in May 2012, the soul of There had never left. It was still there — at every gathering, every event, every pixel of memory.
My first memory in There was meeting CandyFantasyTown at Phoenix Park. She wasn’t just an avatar — she became my mentor, my best friend, and my guide. She had lived through the old There and knew its heart. That day, she taught me how to drive a buggy. It was the beginning of everything.
๐ Events I’ve Created
Before founding the French Fun Club, I hosted a roast-style comedy night and a singing show on the main stage at Phoenix Park. Later, I launched:
- French language classes
- “Wild Wild West” themed object hunt
- Paintball battle in Murakami’s monkey ruins on Caldera
- “Glow & Go” alien-themed event in Tyr with mysterious crystals and moonlight
Each event was a chance to share culture, laughter, and creativity — and to build something meaningful with others.
๐ฎ Events I’ve Attended
I’ve joined buggy races, card games like Motu Motu (Uno-style), Gin and Spades tournaments, karaoke nights, bingo, trivia quizzes, pool parties, chill hangouts, dog playdates, dance nights in themed clubs, talent shows, fashion shows, scavenger hunts, romantic and friendly dates, church gatherings to read the Bible and share faith, sky and space adventures, and surreal moments — like discovering a giant rubber bathtub plug floating in the middle of the ocean, as if it could drain the entire world.
There are also hidden golden statues scattered across the map, honoring the founders of There.com and its beloved mascot, Clucky the Chicken. Clucky has become a symbol of joy and community, and each week a new adventure begins: finding Clucky’s hidden avatar somewhere in the world. It’s a tradition that brings people together — part scavenger hunt, part celebration.
And then there’s the floating island with the glowing “I Love U” sign — not just a romantic surprise, but a magical place suspended in the sky. You can only reach it by teleporting through special portals, making the journey feel like stepping into a secret dream.
๐ Weekly Clucky Hunt
Each week, There.com launches a playful adventure: finding Clucky the Chicken, the world’s beloved mascot. His avatar is hidden somewhere across the map — sometimes in plain sight, sometimes tucked away in the most unexpected corners. Players gather clues, share hints, and celebrate together when someone finds him. It’s more than a game — it’s a tradition that brings the community together.
Clucky the Chicken — hidden weekly across the virtual world. Can you find him?
๐ก What I’ve Learned
I’ve learned how to use special commands, design clothing, discover hidden places, and meet incredible people. But every medal has two sides.
The social fabric and language barrier were sometimes hard. Misunderstandings led to drama. Some people were cruel, careless, or intoxicated — saying hurtful things that left scars. Rumors spread. Some veterans felt invaded by the wave of newcomers after the YouTube video went viral. The company banned longtime members fracturing the community. Many left — old and new alike.
System bugs piled up. It seemed hard to fix them. It felt like the sudden popularity was just too quick. New creators tried to sell and grow, but many veterans ignored them. Ego replaced empathy. And many of the friends I made in the early months are simply gone now — likely forever.
But I stayed. Because you don’t abandon what you love just because some people are cruel. The “Ignore” button exists for a reason.
๐ง My Voice, My Truth
I write to connect — not to impress. My words are long, descriptive, and sometimes raw, because I believe stories deserve space to breathe. I don’t sugarcoat, and I don’t provoke. I speak truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. That’s not rebellion — it’s integrity.
I believe in sharing light among shadows. Humor is part of me, and yes, I don’t always hold my tongue. But behind every sentence is empathy. I’m poetic, but sparingly. I use it when silence isn’t enough. And above all, I believe honesty is strength — even in a pixelated world where masks are easy to wear.
